THIS STORY MUST BE TOLD!

N A R R A T I V E

In Nazi-occupied Poland during World War II,  Adela Berkowitz and her young son Aharon are forced to hide from capture. Torn apart to increase their chances of survival, Adela endures the horrors of Auschwitz, where she is stripped of her identity and subjected to unimaginable brutality.

Amidst despair, Adela finds companionship and strength in fellow seamstresses Iskah Kravitz and Ida Belman. Together, they transform their sewing room into a sanctuary—a source of hope where each stitch defies oppression. Adela forges another bond with another fellow prisoner named Ezra Nagy,  It is through this bond that she gathers the resilience to endure for Aharon, marking each day with unwavering determination.

In a present-day twist, a now elderly Adela who runs a tailoring school in Atlanta, shares her powerful story of survival and the importance of unity and compassion in a world often shadowed by hatred.

The Tailoress  is not merely a historical account; it is a visceral examination of the depths of human courage when confronted with sheer brutality in the midst of unfathomable evil. It illuminates the sacred bond between a mother and her child, showcasing that even in the darkest epochs of history, the flame of hope can persist against all odds
